I just got a busted ps2..I think the power supply is crap...I saw that its just a converter anyways..So how do I wire it up to run on 12 volts? I did a google and just found a bunch of links to a page that dosent work http://www.asdffdsa.net/projects/ps2.htm

Find pinouts for the PS2 power supply first. Then you can figure out how to wire it for 12 volts.

you can just use the slimline ps2 cant u? i think that runs from 12v DC

I cant find the pinout...Theres 4 little prongs..Not sure witch ones what tho...

the slims have the power supply on the end if the plug I think...Most people just cut them off and wire it to a switch 12 volt

Just use a power converter, it hooks up to a 12v source and has a regular outlet on it so you can plug things like ps2 in. I would suggest that you have a good power supply (high power battery, new alt, capacitor) if you have all those things you should have no problem running a ps2 plus any other accessories (audio system, lights, ect.) But thats just my opinion.

Don't do that.

The slimline PS2 requires DC 8V. Pushing 12V through it will probably cause all the magic smoke to escape.

A power inverter is a good idea, but the more powerful ones have a bit of a negative effect on your battery, especially if you play for long times without the car running. However if you don't play it that much, then I'd go for it.

If it is 8 volts for the slimline you could use a resistor to lessen the current. Have to research the draw to figure out the propper resistor.

hummm..I dont have a slim.and an inverter would be pointless with a busted PS2...The power board/supply is fucked...I was just going to by-pass it and give it the 12 volts it makes.......
