Your car looks great. Especially for its age.

Thanks for the comments:)

Its 1981 model, and I think I'm the 5th owner with 178k KMs or maybe 278k KM. Don't know the exact mileage as the odometer only have 5 digits. My father bought this car for my older brother 15+years ago and my brother being such an ass don't even care about the car and he gave it back to my father in very poor condition 6 years ago.

Me and my dad restored it slowly in the past 6 years and I fell in love with the car, where he then gave me the car 3 years ago. So far the car didn't give me any problems except some small things - what do you expect for a car this age?

Too bad the frame was bent because my stupid brother in law drove it into a ditch, doing 120km/h in heavy rain, you guessed it, he hydroplanned. Bunch of suspension parts are damaged and the front left shock tower moved forward ~1cm.

The car drives straight anyway and didn't have any problems with stability or pulling problem.

So far this is my daily driver. I'm looking for a hatch 1g to restore next, but hatch is pretty rare here in Malaysia

Okay, the 4 door looks nice. Yes, Mr. Anti 1gee is admitting that the 1gee 4 door looks nice. Very nice car.

I got the rims from the local junkyard, its made my Enkei, dunno what model an yes, the bolt pattern is 4x120mm. It's 14". Dunno if theres anything bigger than that with the stock bolt pattern

I replaced the rims because it was damaged in the accident. Heres a pic of the car before the wreck with the old 13"

beautiful car u think its possible to get 17's for it?
and just buy blanks and have them cnc it for 4x120?

Hazwan
03-11-2006, 07:42 PM
Not sure as i haven't seen anything bigger than 14" with 4x120

I think you better off with 4x100 conversion. more wheels selection, better brakes etc

It is very beautiful car - both outside and inside! I also admire your determination to repair the front suspension/subframe - looking great. I am just wondering if the steering wheel is original or conversion to older type? I like yours better than the later flat type. Please keep the car for long!

The steering wheel is original. Heres another pic:

Ignore the aluminum pedals. I'm going to get it replaced with stock rubber soon!

hazwan,
the speaker on you door in this last pic did those come stock or did you install them?
I did the same thing in the exact place w/o even knowing what I was doing and it turned out perfect. Ive got 2 5.25" speakers in each door soon I'm going to get 6.5" that fit in the same hole.

Hazwan
03-13-2006, 03:10 PM
I installed them myself and pretty much not knowing what I'm doing also :D It's 2 5.25", planning to install 6.5" but it wont clear the window.

dude thoughs pedals look good on this 1gee i say keep them......... to hell with stock ruber ones inles you like driving bare foot lol

'79accord

the mounting depth on the 6.5 inch speakers I'm going to get will clear the window by about 3/4 to 1 inch. both the 5 and the 6.5 require the same mounting hole.
but @ any rate anything anybody has sound wise in the 1 g is way better then the stock 3 speakers.

look under his name, 81

He mentions later (as well as in his profile) that this is an "81, but........

Those tails sure look like the '79 with amber on the outside corners. 80 & 81's had red all the way across the top. Are these replacement lenses?

I guess Malaysian models are like that. Do you have pics of the tails that you're talking about?
