Cool site. I have a 1989 Honda Accord LX that's treated me well the past 5 years. She still runs perfect (excluding the A/C). Anyway, this summer I plan to revamp her a bit.... hence my SN. Going to redo the suspension (nothing fancy), bushings, etc, tighten things up, and put in a new stereo/speakers (nothing fancy). I found this site while looking for parts... I need a few things, and I hope somebody can tell me where to get them. I want all OEM parts if possible, I don't like aftermarket stuff much.

I need:

Steering wheel in GREAT condtion (mine has pits and chunks missing)
Horn buttons iwth horn logo still visible (3 of mine are almost solid black)
Shift Boot (mine's torn)
Mudflaps (one of mine is ripped, and they all look old. NOS would be great if possible)

Other than taht... I dunno. Maybe a new carb. I just replaced the exhaust, and I'll probably get it painted this summer too. :) She's a good car!

Oh, and whta about shifter bushings? My shifter is pretty sloppy. Does anybody have advice on stereos? I live in an area where people break into cars a lot, so I'd prefer a factory honda stereo.

Thanks dudes!

- James

You can get all of that stuff at the local junkyard and be just fine. Stuff like that is usually in decent shape. What side do you need the mudflap for? I think i've got one that is for the right side.

As for the sound system, if cars get broken into there... get an alarm first... Then get a decent system that you can remove the faceplate from.

I just got an alarm for it last month. :) I'm hopign that an OEM looking CD player won't attract much attention.

Well, hmm. If you're going for suspension, I'm raving about the rear sway bar from an LXi I put in a couple days ago. Cost me $5 at the junkyard, took about two hours total to pull off and put in, completely bolt-on, and wow... the handling is vastly improved. Unless you were planning on doing aftermarket bars, that's something to start looking at.

Heres the pix of the wheel that you pm'd me about:

The wheel is in really good condition no cracks, pits,or fading.

Cool. Can you take a close up pic of the wheel's surface near the top? Mine looks basically like that, it just has tiny pits all over it and I'd like to get one in almost new condition. Same for the shift knob and boot, if possible.

Cool! Thanks! Yeah, I'll probably do that also with poly bushings.

:stupid:

Everything I've seen at junkyards has been pretty trashed, and sun bleached. I'd like some mudflaps that aren't all cracking up and dried out. Like, newish.
