'88 Accord LX

picked it up for $250, drove it home, his GF threw a rock through the driver;s rear window. it needed a new alternator when i first got it home. So far i've changed the oil plugs and water pump. It leaks oil but it seems to be running fine (so far)

oh and i lowered it using those cheapy coilover from Ebay, now i get true mexy ride bounce!!!

Anyways.........

when i got it home

youd be better off spending the money for performance, not looks.

Car looks good, minus huge dent in front bumper lol

hey for $250 what do you expect, the guy i bought it from was kind of a drunk and i think he drove by brail, lol. and ya as far as performance,(spent less than $50) if you want to buy me a set of "good" coilovers, be my guest, i'll glady put them on. lol

there's a link below for you, be careful when you buy these, because i bought them and it didn't come with the spanner wrenches or all the bushings they usually show. i told the seller about it and he said "well it comes with what's in the picture" even thought everywhere else it says like 4 times that it comes with all this junk. oh well...

anyways, they are bouncy as all get out in the rear, the front kinda floats but is way better than the rear. next will be rims/tires and coilovers. mainly coilovers before i ruin my back.

this is as close as i could find to what i bought.

heres a tip for the front bumper to get that corner dents out , het a hair dryer or heat gun and warm the material up and up can probally force out the "dent" in the bumper

Boonie Buster

cool, i thought about that, only prob is i think it would be in vane (sp.) because the bumper in other spots is dented up and the rear has a big gash in it. the car overall is fair, like it has shopping cart dings and whatnot all over. so i think what i'll do if i decide to mod it a little (ie. paint) is get new front and rear bumpers (possibly bocy kit stuff) but i'm not super fond of some of the kits unfortunately. so if anything i'll just do that and paint em. oh and the hood has that nasty dent in it too.

I htink instead of springs you should have fixed your bumper, but oh well. And personally, I think mexi ride cars look silly. They handle like ass and they aren't fast, so what's the point?

uh... maybe the point is that he LIKES it? Besides, it looks much nicer after the drop IMO.

Good pick up with the car! what else do you have in store for her?

Dude, the car's not fast to begin with, all i've done is lower it, apparently that makes it a mexy ride, who knew :dunno: lol. my point is it's a commuter car, and it looked like ass without the lowering kit so i did it. the bumper, whatever, you'd have to see the car up close to see why i haven't fixed it. i'd prolly just get new F&R bumpers before i wasted my time pulling one dent.

Boonie Buster
03-02-2006, 07:15 PM
ya i may have said it had mexy "bounce" and i could care less. i didn't say it looked silly, you did. so i say you should leave your car at stock height to be cooler than the rest of us.

anyways,
ya the tires stayed pretty true actually.

i dumped it as far as the coils could go, you'd be way fine if that's all you did. i think it's almost, if not more, than a 3" drop
