I've been browsing this board for several months now and found plenty of help, but this time I need to post:

I bought a pair of front upper control arms online. The pair I got has a different-looking ball joint on either arm. One has a little black boot and a raised spot on top, and the other one has a larger dome-shaped blue boot and is flush with the arm on top. It also looks like the blue one is a little longer.
I'm guessing that they're the same part and came from different suppliers/manufacturers, but don't know. Would it cause a problem to use those, or should they match?

I wouldn't worry about the boot, but worry about if the ball joint seats down in the spindle properly.

Edit- Sounds like you said, just a manufacture difference. It shouldn't be nothing to worry about, a ball joint boot is just to keep grease in.
