this is my first post on the site so a big hello to all
i have just bought a H reg (1990) accord 2.0 auto with F20A3 engine
the problem is now and then it will not change gear and stays in 2nd the oil is full dose anyone have an idea what it could be ???

Have you tried flushing the tranny?

mine was pegged into any given gear just before it went. im not sure if a flush would do much, but its worth a try

A flush may cause more harm than good if the transmission is on its last leg. You can try doing a regular fluid change (replaces only a small quantity of fluid) and see if it helps. I'm not familiar with your particular transmission, but it may be in limp mode. Perhaps its an electrical issue (solenoids, valve body, wiring problem)? Do you get any indicators on the dashboard? Since your transmission is electronically controlled, you may want to try resetting the computer by disconnecting the battery for about 10 minutes. It would also be helpful to know the condition of the fluid (burnt? dark?). Hope this helps.
