Its no where near finished yet. The body kit is not even screwed doen yet. It still needs a few minor adjustments. And yes I am going to get it painted but I'm keeping that a secret..................

The shop is doing it. I just stop by everyday to take a few pics of the progress. I think it is coming along pretty nicely.

Why he doesn't put the bumper deeper?

If you pay the guy $$/hour, this will cost you MORE than it should if he keep the bumper there...

Take a look a mine

http://www.clubaccordquebec.com/temp/l3g10n/hatchproject/DSC01901sm.jpg

For sure mine was coming from an 90-93 Accord. Maybe he's longer but, cost me less to do the wheel housing by cutting than add some bumper. I am really scared how he will add what's missing to join your wheel housing.

About the rims...... SICK!!!!!! :p i love 'em!

Yeah he took the bumper off to do some refiberglassing to it. He basically had it on to see where he needed to do the work. But when he is done it will look like the kit was made for the car. Yeah looks like yours fit pretty well.

come on man at least if ur gonna get the thnig painted at least take off the grill its like 4 or 6 bolts and geez a waste of time masking off the headlights should have jsut taken them out. man after working for years in bodyshops i still see ppl do 2x more tape work than needed , not to mention being that the clear coat wont reach the edge of the pannel its most likely will flake off with time , tell him to take that dam grill off and prep the car non 1/2 assed. :slap:

gfrg88

yeah the clear coat will most likely flake off if they paint it the way it looks like they will.....

gp02a0083
03-30-2006, 09:37 AM
im not being a bitch about it , im just looking out for other members i can bet on it that the clear will flake if its painted like that. if all possable take anything off thats simple enough to take off w/o much work like the side mirrors and some trim stuff like the antenna trim its 2 friggin skrews:rant:
i know alot of us are trying to make our cars better or preserve them but a 1/2 assed paint job will 1. make u spend more money in the long run and 2. cause added work that could have been avoided. hence like my HB when i cut out the pannels this summer im not gonna spot in the 1/4's im gonna spray the hatch, 1/4s and roof and possably the bumper also only b/c that seattle silver/gold color is a bitch to blend and it will get more clear that i can wet sand and polish.

Dude I'm not painting it. As far as the headlights go they will be down once its painted and the grill too.But they have done a lot of custom paint jobs that I have seen personally so I'm not woried about mine. not to be picky but in one of those pics I saw a can of bondo, why in the world would a good shop be using bondo brand when there are so many better fillers? bondo brand was fine in the seventies, but it's a dinosaur now.

Which brands would you recommend over Bondo?I like the nappa microlite brand myself,I'm not sure about pricing there, but here it's actually cheaper for a can of that then the same size can of bondo, filler isn't bad,i just don't care for the bondo brand is all. the microlite seems to sand and feather really well. I don't have any filler more then a sixteenth of an inch thick on my car,and I wanted something that keyed well into the metal and didn't flake. for a note, anywhere you are going to apply filler, rough up the metal first with 80 grit paper before you apply the first coat of filler.

right, your local store should have it,we use it a lot at school too,and I haven't heard any complaints. the only thing bondo brand i will touch is the two part glazing putty it seems to work pretty good, not the red stuff in the tube, but the kind that you mix the hardner with, like filler, it's only for final glazing after you do your final sanding on your filler.

I would check ebay. For Jdm items look for a seller by the name of Jdmnz. He sells jdm items for all types of Hondas. He is located in New Zealand. If you order here from the U.S. the shipping will probably kill you. Good Luck
