Just thought I'd post some pics of my little project that this site got me all motivated to do to my 2gee.

I'm sure most people here have seen one of these. Pulled it from the junk yard for $10.00.

Repainted the steering column to match the new wheel.

I painted the needles white to look a bit more modern and they show up at night too. The amazing Testors model paint was used here. $0.99 per bottle. :) Also resprayed the bezel black and buffed out the scratches and polished the clear plastic window over the gauges. Looks all shiny and new now.

The gauges with new blue LED lighting behind them. Another reason for painting the needles white, is because the blue light doesn't light up the orange needles. But the white ones can be seen clearly (although not so much in the picture). Yeah I know its rice, but oh well I guess I like a little rice.

This is a little project I did some time ago. These are auxiliary inputs into my Alpine deck for connecting an iPod, laptop, or any other audio source. Ran the wires back under the carpet to the trunk and connected it to the input on my XM satellite receiver.

JDM arm rest / console thingy. At least that's what the eBay auction said. It came in some crazy green color. Never seen an interior in green before. Anywho, bought color-matched paint and sprayed it to match the interior.

I redid my entire trunk, since I had some nasty leaking taillights and it rotted out my old false floor. This was quite a project as it turned out. After making sure the leak was fixed, I sprayed 2 cans of that Great stuff foam in between the wheel wells and body. I applied Dynamat to all of the side paneling around the trunk and the bottom of the trunk. Applied new carpet onto the vinyl pieces on the sides of the trunk. I cut some black carboard to fit against the back seats so that you can't see the steel structure anymore.
Turns out the trunk in these cars is ideal to hide a lot of stereo equipment. The way that it sinks down in the middle made it perfect to build a false floor out of. In that sunken area is an XM tuner and amp for my rear speakers. I bought some 1/4 inch fiberboard and cut it to fit the trunk, applied some house carpet padding onto it, then glued the trunk carpeting on top of that. The result is a nice soft floor in the trunk with great noise deadening properties.
And I also designed and built that sealed subwoofer box to match the airspace specs of the of the sub. The difference between it and my old, ghetto box is really amazing.

I also laid down some of that carpet padding and wheel wells under the back seat to kill extra noise in the car.
After all this work, I turned on my stereo to be amazed at how much better, richer bass I have in the car now. Since the trunk is fully insulated and Dynamatted, it really pushes the sound more to the cabin of the car.
Anyways, guess I just wanted to show it off, since it was kind of a fun project.
