what is this for? does it provide extra power for ecu? seems like a pretty thick wire, diagram states its a ALT RF INPUT, haynes shows it commin right off the regulator to ecu pin labeled E1.

can i just bypass this wire directly to bat 12v or acc 12v.
i am doing a standalone efi swap and want to keep using my brandnew alternator which is only 3pins lol

mind you i've been staring at this wiring all day and i think my mind is startin to play tricks on me:confused:

Here is what I know about it.

The FR signal communicates to the ECU how "hard" the alternator is working to meet the electrical demands of the car, including the battery and any loads.

The ECU compares the electrical load signal with the FR (Charging Rate) signal from the alternator and uses that information to set the idle speed and turn the alternator on and off.

oh shit.

so, i guess i probably should have taken the alternator as well then eh, faaawk:slap:

oh well, i will just bypass it then till i get a proper regulator, wires like 12 guage to, kinda big for data, oh well hehe

Here is the diagram I made up...

You can swap the efi regulator and carb regulator

wicked, i know where i'm gettin a regulator from, i'm gonna put the intake on today and just see if i can get the car running

thats kinda funny, in the haynes manual it shows there being a extra wire labeld 3 under carb electrical, but doesnt go anywhere like 3 does to the ecu (w/r) in the fuel injected section.
maybe some carb models had the 4pin alternator, just never used all 4 pins

thanks mang, i will be back later
