Ok, so the bumpers on my new car are a little rough, and im planning on refinishing them soon.
Is it safe to use a paint stripper on the plastic bumpers our should i resolve to only sanding? (ugh)

I'm working on the same thing on my 86.....today I started on the front bumper. Someone did an AWFUL patch job on it and didn't blend the edges, so I used a pretty aggressive (40 grit) sandpaper to start, then went to a finishing grit, then primed several coats and painted. It isn't perfect, but it looks a hell of a lot better than it did, and you can't tell at all from about 5 feet away.
I think probably the easiest thing to do would be to sand it while on the car (carefully around the body of course, or mask the body), and then remove the bumper for shooting. That's what I'll probably end up doing....unless you have a good bench, then you can do the whole thing off the car.

I used an orbital sander then wet sanded, took no time at all.
