Hey guys... I was wondering if anyone has put in a sound system in the first gen accord? As I see it, there is room for the stereo head unit, but nowhere to put the speakers. I was wondering what other people did in this situation...

Cheers
Josh

Throw up some pics of the interior... such as door panels and such.

I'm not a 1g guy but I worked in a custom car audio shop for quite some time and I'm sure I can help out with some ideas.

I'm sure you could cut holes in the doors to mount front speakers... As for the rear speakers, I guess it depends on whether its a hatch or not. If its a sedan, you should have space in the rear panel behind the seats to cut holes. As for a sub / amp, you'll have to improvise like the rest of us. :) Usually the back of the seat is a great place to mount an amp. Subwoofers aren't usually so convenient, but its usually the same for any car...

I installed 5.25" speaker up front, yeah you need to cut holes for it lol

As for the rear, I've cut new holes for my 6x3 speakers, you can reuse the stock hole for 6.5" speaker also.
I have no sub or amps (yet) so I cant comment on it

BTW, any modern head unit will stick out by half inch because theres not much room at the back
