I have heard that "claying" you car before waxing removes contaminents and such. You use a deatiling spray as a lubricant to glide the detailing clay over.
Supposedly it does as good of a job as polishing, But is not an abrasive like polish. Have any of you tried it ? If so were the reults good ?

I used it on my accord when I first got it, the results were amazing.
Just remember to keep the bar wet and to keep turning it over.
Have fun when you do it.

well never used it...since my car is losing the clear coat since it was painted on the trunk and hood but the roof is still original and its the best shape for 18 years. i just polished the roof to see if i could take out some scratches...it did not take out the big ones but damn this car looked like it had a new roof...shines like a penny. just clay the car and take some pics

yeah a claybar does wonders. Just don't forget to turn it around and just throw it away if you drop it on the ground.

Use LOTS of lube.

You won't see the difference, as much as you will FEEL the difference after you're done.

Peace.

claybar isn't a polish it's a cleaner. Claying won't remove fine scratches. if you polish afterwards and then wax you'll get a nice shine.

The procedure usually is
wash
clay
wash
polish
wax
