Alternative License Plate Mount

ok well for a while i havent had my front license plate on my 3gee. today i decided i'd put it back on. i put it on with the mount that's under the bumper. i dunno, check it out. anyone elses car come with one of these mounts? its almost as if they knew what i'd need, a hidden plate mount.

oh well, looks better than sticking off the front of my bumper, imo. and dont ask me, the mount is just like that.

i think im gona mount mine to the far left in the same section as yours just have to get out there with a hack saw to cut my old bolt off

does you car have that same mount or what? i was thinking all of the 3gees have them but i really dont know.

never seen it mines up at the top of the bumber like were the bolts are on yours

Hmm... I thought mine was just bent... I want to take mine off completely when I get my car painted, is it legal to just put it in the window or does that depend on the state?

well now that i look at it i do have mounts there but it might have been for a bottom mount so there a top and bottom mount but im not sure

they are just the bottom mounts for the regular location
they look like garbage sticking out properly so people just bend them in

i had a plate on there and removed it a while back

I don't need a front plate here so i got rid of the two mounting holes in the middle of the bumper when I redid it,I would think mounting it down low would block airflow to the radiator,since it breathes from under the bumper.

That would be illegal here, since the license plate is not properly displayed.

looks werid like some one kicked it under or you were drive so fast the air bent it back. well what kind of bumper is that i never seen a bumper like that but it sure looks good.

ok, well finally i have time to post up some more pix. anyway, last night i thought it really wasnt too great of an idea to have the plate angled down, so i just moved the mount back to the middle hole. now its visible so i dont get a stupid ticket. maybe once i get the front lip i want it'll look better. i think i'm just going to order a new one if i cant find one at the junk yards. oh and its the bumper that came on the 86-87 sedan and all years of the hatch.
