Is the A20a1 head the same as the A20a3?

reason being that i can get a real cheap carb head that has been rebuilt from the jy... wondering if it will bolt to my a3 anyone ever tried it or asked this before please dont tell me to search cus i have.

yeah, the a1 and a3 heads are the same casting, but the end cap where the distributor bolds up is different. you can bolt either distributor up to either head, even without changing that. so yeah, they are almost identical.

the later a3 head has a slightly more aggressive cam, and is generally more desirable because it is. you can swap cams if you want to use your current cam, though.

nice, cus this head i'm looking at is gonna be around 90 bucks and just had a valve job... do you know how long it would take to change the head / if i'd need to pull the engine. cus i've done heads on v6 and it takes forever.
