speedo wont go past 10mph

my speedo wont go past 10mph, but when i stop the car and give it alot of gas to get up to speed faster it jumps to 20mph then back to 10 any help would be great. thnks

check the conection on the trans. theres a rubber boot then a pin, remove those and pull the cable and see if the notch in the cable end is still there. sounds like its broke off.

:werd: the boot is on the back of the trans next to the firewall. maybe your cable got bent somehow?? just a thought.
