When searching for electrical parts such as fans and window motors at the boneyard. Bring a 9-volt battery with you to test them.

Won't run the stuff like the car battery, but it will run enough to tell if the part is functional.

Thats right,just enough juice to see if it works,then check it with your battery on 3-g in parking lot.
