For some reason I am thinking no. Mine fit when I pulled it out because the back half was busted up, but now that I have a new one do I need to dick around with that damn pinch fork bolt and seperate the lower control arm and the strut fork? I hope not, I couldnt get that damn piunch fork bolt out, im afraid of breaking it.

No, not possible. If you can't losen the bolt, disassemble the inboard CV joint and pass it through. Then reassemble. You can clamp the boot back on with a heavy duty zip tie.

i had to take it off and use a bungy cord to hold it to the car but it was on a automatic

Shit, what a pain in the ass this suspension is. Why the hell couldnt honda have made it slightly wider to fit the fucking axle!?

I ask that same question every time. Even if you get the fork loose, it's still a bitch if you can't get your ball joints free. You have to unbolt the radius rod and sway bar so you can push the lower arm down far enough to get it through.

Yup, totally dumb on their part. The axle should have fitted right through...

I did the CV axle trick one and it worked fine.

Well its all taken care of, atleast the bolt wasnt as bad as it was on the other car. Took 20mins to get out though, no air guns. I even bent a 1/2 inch ratchet slightly trying to take that axle nut off

Yeah the 32mm axle nut is a bit hard to remove sometimes. I use a 2.5 feet breaker bar with a 3 feet cheater bar :D

I spent over an hour cutting mine off, I kept it, what's left of it is sitting next to me on the desk.

wow i guess it pays off to have a uncle that is a mechanic...like i said he has all the air tools and he only took like 30 mins to change both of them and he was doing it fast...i told him how fast can he do the mazda ones and he said that 10 mins tops on each side.

Had to cut mine off w/ a torch. Then burn the bushing out w/ a torch. Then beat the metal outer sleeve out of the lower arm by cutting it w/ said torch.

they made it hard because they dont want us to fix our own cars. no liability on their part.

I just got done grabbing a drivers side axel at the junkyard for my manual swap (I will be posting lots of pictures and information on how I did it later).

The quickest way I found to get the axel out was:

1. Pound a punch into the disc brake's slot to prevent rotation. Probably don't want to do it this way at home on your own Accord.

2. Wrench off the axel nut with a big 3/4 inch drive ratchet. We had no huge metric sockets, but I found a 1-1/4 inch socket will fit perfectly.

3. Try to pound the ball joints out, and fail. Then cut them off with a hacksaw. This tool works awesome for junkyard runs, its a small hacksaw with a flipout blade that takes normal sawzall blades:

(make sure to put a steel blade in it)
Edit: I believe it is Stanley PN 15-333

4. Take apart the inner CV, and slip out the axel.

just wanted to add something to this thread, get a pitman arm puller at the auto parts store,I paid under ten bucks for mine years ago. it'll take off any ball joint on this car easy, also the tie rod ends. used it plenty of times at the junkyard. never failed me yet.
