Fuel pump packed it in the other day on my 89 EXi Coupe (in the middle of nowhere of course) and I had a back yard mechanic put in a new Pump (new fuel filter and filter bag on pump too). Car runs great now except that the whole fuel system between the pump and the filter at the firewall is making a low wirring noise now, quite loud. The actual pump sounds like a fuel pump should but its almost like theres crazy amounts of fuel being pushed through the system and its making it hum, especially under the dash and by the tank. The noise does get lesser or dissapear when i stomp on it at low RPM (pressure drop?). Did this guy mess somthing up or is it maybe my FPR or somthing else went down when the old pump packed it in. Everything is hooked up where it should be and i didnt see any pinched pipes. Gonna check the Pressure tomorrow but if anyone else has had a similar problem would love to hear of it. Did search the forums and didnt find anything like this.
