Since new, the following parts have been replaced: radiator @201k and 463k, alternator @256k and 451k, h2o pump @385k, LF wheel bearing @388k, LF axle @270k and 441k, RF axle @307k and 463k, front brake hoses @441k, clutch @ 255k, LF lower ball joint @388k, all motor mounts @ 299k, catalytic converter @ 366k and 451k, oil pump@465k.

that's about it. The car still has the original suspension so it rides like a waterbed. the motor and trans are original and NOT rebuilt.
The distributor leaks oil through the housing- dripping directly into the small hole and onto the clutch. This makes the clutch chatter from contamination.
I'm pretty tired of putting $$$ into repairs.

You're right. While the car was down (bad oil leak),Last month I spent $744 in gas using my work truck for basic transp. It seems I can't afford not to use this car when I'm not working.

Nice clean intake, good fuel filter, new sparkplugs and wires etc.. Just a nice good tuneup. I'm getting about 38mpg in city and a little more on the highway.

and my girlfriend wonders why i want her in a honda instead of her camaro.

i think the fuel mileage also has something to do with the way the car is driven. i still get like 20-23 in the city with moderate driving habbits. mine has recently hit 130000 miles and i wont be surprised if it'll last me another 20 years since its gonna be 20 in november. i still plan to do some mods on the engine. tuned head, new cam, a few other bolt on power adders. i dont plan on any forced induction though as i would like the engine to last at least to 300000 miles. not like i cant rebuilt it easily enough.

bullard123

Yeah thats one thing I like about Hondas in general if you take care of them they will sure take care of you. Its the people that get them and don't take care of them that makes everything bad.

HondaBoy
05-21-2006, 02:45 PM
i know quite a few people that just didnt care for their honda and it still ran pretty good. i think in general honda's are built well and not pieces of crap like other car companies have built their cars.

When I first noticed the leak under the dist, I too thought it was the "o" ring. But as it turns out, the dist. itself is leaking. I never knew oil could get inside there. I have replaced the "o" rong twice with no results. Lot's of honda junk yards where I live- I will look for the rubber piece that covers the hole. A new dist. is almost $400

i have a working distributor that i can sell. i'll have to make sure it's not leaking oil, but it didn't when i was driving the car.

Vanilla sky, Thanks for your offer and support. I appreciate all of the support and information the users of this forum have to offer. Since there are many, many Accords at the local wreckers I will first try my luck here in San Diego.

Forrest, I will give your link a try as well. There are some other parts I need also.
