How do you remove the brake booster from an '87 ('86-'89) Accord? I have removed the yoke and still can't seem to get enough clearance on the through bolt to get it out from the firewall and the booster out of the engine bay. Is the only way to get this out of there to dismantle half of the engine?

Its one of the more difficult mx i had to do on the acccord. You gotta push the rod in as far as it can do from the inside. I' cant remember to well, was a while ago, but I think thats how I did it. It took me a long time to get that crap out.

Joy! Sounds like a real blast. :( At least it seems Honda learned from this later on as I know in my fifth generation Civic I have a TON of room to remove and install the brake booster.

Well the quick and dirty of it. I unbolted the wiper motor from the firewall and that got me just enough room to wiggle the booster out of place and the new one in.

Yeah it was a PITA for sure. All that is left is to bleed the lines and get the stupid thing to start again.
