Hey all, the pressure plate finally gave up the ghost in the '88 LX, so I picked up a new clutch kit and dropped it in. Now, the thing is, I have to adjust the clutch so that there is practically ZERO play - otherwise, teh clutch won't fully disengage.

The Haynes manual I have, is calling for 1/4" of play. I've got more like 1/16". Is that going to be ok, to have running around?

The Haynes manual is WRONG - the Shop Manual is calling for 2.5mm-4.5mm (.09-.17) So I'm going to 1/10"

my friend had the same problem but after about 30-40 starts his finally sat right and was able to be adjusted and stayed that way.

Yep, got her running... omg wow, now the Weber is running like total shit. :( Deiseling when I shut it off and all. grr... went down, dumped $25 of 93 octane into her, and that seems to have helped, but she's really jumping and sputtering erratically. Maybe the gas went bad - I'm going to burn through it, and see if it gets better... either way, it's time I got the jets running right, and the exhaust fixed on her. :)

Did you possibly knock off the control wire to the idle control solenoid?
