there is a big brakcet bolted onto the engine with 4 bolts I think... they are really hard to remove. there are maybe 2 bolts holding the ar compressor to the bracket, they should be running parralel to the block.

it's best to drain and remove the radiator to get the a/c off... it's really not that hard to remove the radiator... just be careful of the trans cooling lines on the bottom of the radiator. and the ps cooling line in front of the radiator, and you'll also have to remove the extra a/c cooler that sits infront of the radiator.

so can i just removed the 2 bolts and remove the compressor from the bracket or should i remove the bracket too.

removing radiator is out of the picture, i dont want to remove anything in order to take the ac off, im gonna try to do it without removing the PS pump, but it looks as if ill have to remove it to get access to the 2 bolts,

could someone post up a pic showing the two bolts that are holding the compressor to the bracket?

thanx

Since you're probably removing the A/C to save weight, why not pull the bracket off too?

I had to change the compressor on mine. I removed the PS pump. All you do is unbolt the two bolts holding it, then move it out of your way the best you can.

If you have the Keihin, the manual says you have to take the bracket out. There are three bolts holding the compressor to the bracket, two on top and one on the bottom(this one holds the compressor in the adjusting track) Then there are six bolts going into the block. Once you break them loose, it's pretty easy to get them out. They are just awkward to get to. Also, you have to tilt the compressor away from the bracket in order to get to some of the bolts.

Remember, those instructions are for the Keihin. I'm not sure about the ND compressor. I'll try to get some pics up.

You don't need any air tools. Just use a regular wrench and hit the bolts. Once you break them loose, it's really easy.

PB Blaster has worked a lot better for me than WD 40 did. You may want to try it for $5 before paying someone else to do the whole job for you.
