well i found a b20a at my work today. its kinda funny, seeing as though i work at a wrecking yard im used to seeing the normal a20x motors and today when i saw what i thought was an a20 but upon closer inspection found it to b a b20a. now ive searched and im still not quite sure if this b20 is the 160hp version or not. its outa a 2g lude, dual side draft carbs and it looks identical to th 3g accord a20. same mounts and everything. if it is the 160hp b20a, what options do i have in reguards to transmissions? will my a20a3 tranny bolt on or do i need to find the original b20 tranny?

b.t.w. 86k original miles(grandma couldn't figure out y it wouldn't start, a dead batt was quite an overstite)

are you sure its the b20a? cuz they had a b18 with the dual side drafts that came with 130hp...if i was you i would take it out since that engine is a good find. http://www.3geez.com/forum/showthread.php?t=45782

sweet. hop on that if you can, man. that's a good find right there well worth the time it'll take you to yank the engine.

If it's SOHC, then it's a B20A3

so does it fit into the accord....im guessing yes...this swap is worth it.

probably only if you're carbed. if it gets 130, that's not a big jump from 122 that you get in the 88/89 a20a3. and being sohc, you'd be right back at square one from where you were with the a-series.

the carb only came with 98hp so to 130 is not a bad jump at all.

if it looks the same as the a20 and its in a 2g lude and its sohc, im thinking it might just be a18

I could be mistaken but the b20a3's only make about 100 hp and 107 lbft of torque..
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

yeah, i didn't know the specs about the b20a3. i was commenting more on him saying swap it if it had 130 and was a b18 instead of b20a3. if it is a b20a3, then yeah, pointless, because it has less power than an a20a3 and doesn't even bolt in.

it would be badass though if it did have 130 though because it would have more torque then power also.
