I have read that a lot of you guys have been able to use CAIs designed for 90-93 tegs with minimal modifications.
I found this on ebay and wanted a 2nd opinion:

What do you guys think? I figure I can't go too wrong for $33 shipped.

Looks fine to me. I got mine off ebay it works great. But make sure you get a good filter, some of those filters arent so good.

yeah, like you said, for $33 shipped, you can't go much better than that. just get a battery relocation kit or turn your battery or whatever you need to do to get it to fit. but it shouldn't be too strenuous of a process.

It will work, i have the 90-93 teg CAI also. It just takes a little figuring if you dont want to move your battery.

with the one's you guys got... is it the 2 piece or the solid pipe cus i see quite a few different configurations? which one is easiest do you guys think? i mean obviously multiple pieces would be easier but in my thinking a one piece would probably flow better? what do you guys think?

It's a 2 peice. A 1 peice probably would flow better but then you would have to move the battery.

I bought one of the ones I listed in the link. I'll let you guys know how it works out - and of course pictures.

ok I got my CAI and got it installed this past week. it required some modification (obviously) to get it to fit but overall it was not too bad. Definitely well worth the $33. Noticeable power gain and it sounds awesome! I'll write up a post with some pics and details later today or tomorrow.

did you buy one of those bypass filters too or are you just going to make it a short ram in your rainy season? because the last thing you want is hydrolock.

do not have a bypass valve as of now. i was under the impression that it was not needed as long as you don't drive through deep puddles or standing water??? should i be worried about this?

true, but better safe than sorry. and since generic ones can be had for $10+shipping, i'd say that's a hell of a lot cheaper than a hydrolocked engine.

^ yeah for sure!, when i intstall all my piping (i bought monkeys from 91civic....) i will get one of them bypass valves, cause it sure as hell is cheaper to get one than have a hydrolocked engine!!!

you really should be safe as long as its not submerged. i dont have that problem here though. on a really rainy day what you outta do is carry an extra filter so you can unbolt the second pipe and stick the filter on.

yep just disconnect the pipe going down and put a filter on the one you got on top and BAM you got a short ram :D should only take about 5 mins

i have a question , i bought my cai a while back and im running a short ram cause my battery is in the way, how do you guys move the battery like you just move it to the side or something, how do you hold it down, and did you have to cut the stock intake hole...bigger so the pipe fits? thanks

i just unscrewed the battery tray moved over as much as i needed it, then just bolted it back down. and i also cut the whole a little bigger, but thats cause my intake is pretty big...

chainz how did it turn out? any pictures? overall comments with the install?
I'm looking at getting this guy:

I'm curious as to where exactly the various clamps and fittings that come with this kit are supposed to be used? Do most kits come with general instructions? Does anyone have any pics of a similar kit with similar fittings installed on their ride?
