hi! i just got a b20a5 engine form hp3 and started to pul down it. and i just wondering what parts from this engine can fit to my b20a1 2g lude. what about cams? pistons? cranks? crankshaft? carter? please tell me if you know something! thanx

Hmm, the internal parts can fit (most of them). The distributor and crank sensor as well.

It depends on what you need.

i need camshafts!! my camshafts are very worn out. but the cam gears on that b20a5 are a bit smaller, but i think it depends on the belt.. by the way i guess someone engine has obd-0 and obd-1 (or somethink like that) so the distributor and crank sensor souldn't fit, becouse the units of the wiring is different. who knows, where i can find info about pistons diameter, etc

yes you cant use the distributor and exhaust cam sensor on your b20a1, unless you get a B20A5 ecu too since you have mechanically advanced timing on your B20A1.

the cams will fit, you just have to put the B20a1 cam gears on them. Pistons will fit (but has a lower compression ratio - 9:1), rods will fit, dont know about the crankshaft.

thanx thegreatdane .cool. i will put cams and injectors tomorrow. the deal with the pistons is interesting. what compression ratio is on the b20a1? 9.4? how the piston can decrease the compression ratio? i thought it depends on the cell of the combustion

B20A1 and B20A2 : 9.5:1
B20A8 : 9.4:1

Basically if the piston is taller it will also make the combustion room smaller. But yes it also have to do with the size of the combustion room in the head.

The B20A7 150hp engines have a 10.5:1 compression ratio so might be worth it for you to steal a set of pistons from one of those engines.

so b20a5 has 9.1 compression ratio? and it isn't worth to put the pistons from this b20a5 to my b20a1 unless if i am going to get a turbo

yes 9.0:1 for the B20A5
