Hello Guys, I have a big question. I just locate a parts car to do my carb to EFI swamp, but it is an automatic, my carb is 5 speed. Will I need something else from a 5 speed EFI other than the gauge cluster? Please let me know if will be worth to get that parts car for cheap. I am planning on transplant the head along with the other components for the swamp.
Thanks for your help in advance, any help will be much appreciated.

nope. you can keep the auto gauge cluster unless you really want EFI 5 speed one.
you will have to do 5 speed conversion. You should read up about 5 speed swap in how to section. You will understand what wires you will have to connect to start the motor.

Thanks for your reply and I'm sorry if I wasn't clear on my questions. My car is an 86 LX 5 speed carburetor and I'm about to buy an 89 LX-i Automatic.
Will I get the same performance out of that automatic head? compared to an 5 speed head out of an 89 LX-i? The head out of my carbureted engine is not in good condition so I'm trying to get as much performance gains possible out of the EFI swamp and swamp EFI head.
Also wich components will be diferent? if any.
Thanks again to anybody that could help.

its swap, when you trade something. efi will give you about another 20 horses, but there is no difference in heads between 5 sp and auto.

I read I think in Carotman's instructions that the engine wiring harness may be different betwen the Automatic's and the 5 Speed? If so I might need to get the engine harness from a 5 speed, Could some body confirm that?:sad2:
