What is the easiest way to get to the a/f Screw on a 1989 LX?

By taking off the carb., it has a plug in there to keep you from messing with it. Your not going to get it out with the carb. on the car.

yeah, most likely you will need to take the carb off the manifold to get to that plug. i tried with the carb on the car and never have had luck on any of them. you'll need the two gaskets that the carb sets on though if you do take the carb off. why exactly do you need to do anything to the a/f screw? if the car's running funny check vacuum lines and the vacuum oporated parts for leaks because you really should never have to do anything to the a/f screw if its stock.

These carbs are a pain in tha ass. Unless you can rebuild the carb with a kit for $40, (that don't come with everything you need) your in for some headaches trying to tune it right.

Thats totally true, that is the reason for me to attemp the EFI swamp, Im just tired of the carburetor. Sorry to hear your troubles my best bet is that your carb might need a rebuild.:sad2:

im telling you check for vacuum leaks because if it stalls at a stop that would be my first guess. personally, i've rebuilt the carb once and took all the vacuum contols off and its runs great since. i say check for vacuum leaks because i've had the same problem and results as you describe.
