so can any body give me horspower numbers for each mod, even a guess is good, i just want to hear about what kinda mods give u the most power
ok lets start the list,

Flipped lid (carbed accords)
Cold air intake (efi accord)
Short under hood intake (efi accord)
Accel coil
K&N air filter
8.mm spark plug wires
Exaust system

thats all i can think of right now, can someone tell me about how much horsepower each of those mods would give?

thanx

Flipped lid (carbed accords) +2 / -2
Cold air intake (efi accord) +3 / +7
Short under hood intake (efi accord) +3 / -2
Accel coil +1 / +3 with proper gaps
K&N air filter +3
8.mm spark plug wires +1
Exaust system +5 / +10 / -15

the -15 is if you mess up and go with too small or too large a pipe diameter and also if you get it crimp bent.

wo, how would you get negative Ponies from the intake and flipped lid? :(

hot air being sucked in, just rig up something to feed colder air into the intake stream, like a ram air setup, i got a hose ran from my air box down into the fog light area, it sorta pushs colder air up into the intake stream help while driving but whne idling doesnt really help

ya I think I'm prolly runnin between 105 and 110..

However.. i wouldn't recomend cold air intakes.. esp if you live in a place when it either rains or snows alot..

cuz the CAI brings air in from the bottom, like near the road surface.. and if you get moisture suckin in aswell..
well, i will leave it up to you to figure out what you think may happen..

but ya, thats true..if you run too large of an exhaust.. you beggin to loose torque and power...
I wouln't go any larger then 2.25in exhaust..

I noticed the difference when I got my 2.25in cat-back put in..

compaired to the stock 1.75in.. I lost some top end power..
it's harder to get to 160km's now, then it was before..
but as for low end.. it's all there..infact.. i gained some low end power..

I dunno if I'd say that about crimped bends. Grassroots motor sports mag., compaired mufflers where they picked a muffler and had a shop create a cat-back for it. The car they used was very simular to our's in engine size and tuning. A 92 (I believe it was a 92) VW jetta. The lowest power gain was the pacesetter with it's nice smooth mandrel bends, gained like 2 horsepower. The 3rd most powerfull was the Dynomax super turbo setup,....with crimped bends, made like 7hp.

I fully agree about the pipe diameter.

hmm maybe the crimps act as anti-reversion dams like the ones they are starting to add into the primaries of new performance headers.

I remember that it is just another reason why a 40 buck dynomax muffler kicks some serious ass.
