How much on avg to rebuild a 87 accord lx?

hey ppl i got an 87 accord 4 door 4 cyl everything in the engine is stock n its got 292,000 kms on it i was just wonderin on avg how much u think it wud cost to rebuild the engine.... also plz say what currency ur usin >_<

if youve got all the tools like an engine hoist and stands and such, your looking at about 100-300 for block work, and maybe 500 or so for a rebuild kit and new hoses and such. all this is an estimate though, makes no difference what currency it is, USD to be more accurate though.


for my engine rebuild, ive already spent close to 1k on on just tools and such, biggest things are the engine hoists. i just sent my block to a machine shop, so who knows how much more itll be. and my friends getting me a rebuild kit at wholesale price, so ill save a bit of money there.


rebuilds arent cheap, so dont expect to get away without paying a bit more then you expect. i thought it was going to cost me roughly $700 or so CDN, but its ALOT more then i originally planned
