hey guys i got a 2nd gen lude obvisouly i got a question i just bought some tockico struts and if u know they do not exist anymore and he put like 60 thosand miles on it or something and they have road grime on them and some other crap on them they look pretty bad and i wont to clean them up badly cause im very uptight on what goes on my lude and i want them cleaned up and lookin like new again wats the best way to clean these up and i dont want to get any chemicals on the shafts cause that will eat the seals up and they got some build up on them like rust and tar that wont come off any sugg:)

Power washer with just water? like at a car wash?

a little wd40 should not hurt the seals, and should penetrate the grease/grime on the pistons. Use a terry-cloth towel, or one of those blue disposable towels (like a paper towel, but not), don't use a paper towel unless you have to.

i was thinking along the lines of armor all wheel cleaner, but thats probably pretty acidic. i would say the pressure washer idea is the safest

...the pressure washer is not a bad idea, but you should blast the piston with a WD40 afterward just to protect it.
Also, with the pressure washer, just make sure not to direct the water down the piston, where it might want to try and get into the seals.
