We all seem to have various strains of the A20 motor.
I know I've got an A20A4. I live in Australia and I have the 88 Si model.
So my question is what is the difference between the different types of engines (i.e. A20A1, A20A3, A20A4 etc.)
what does the little number on the end mean?

Someone must know the answer,

Thanks,
J

A20A1 > carbed engine ( US model )
A20A2 > carbed engine ( foriegn models )
A20A3 > EFI engine ( US model )
A20A4 > EFI engine ( foriegn models )

hope this helps ! :)

So what are the differences between the Us model and foreign models?
and why the Us model gotta be different? Wouldn't the Japanese model be different?

Perhaps it was different Honda companies? Or perhaps they wanted to make them like that because they wanted some difference. Or perhaps diferent parts of the world suit different tastes? (plz mind the spelling)

mostly because of emissions... we are overly strict with smog rules
