I did the 5 speed swap in my 89 accord lxi and from day one the clutch pedal has been incredibly hard to push in. I have driven other 3geez and the clutch pedal wasn't that bad to push. I replaced the clutch cable when I did the swap. The pedals are well lubed. I put a new clutch in it from Napa (because I was in a hurry). I just don't know what the deal is. I have about 20k on the clutch now and it is still the same. Has anybody had this problem? And yes I did lube the throwout bearing and bearing linkage up.

I did get it lined up properly. I have checked the cable adjustment and no matter what you do it is hard to push. I pushed up on the throwout bearing arm and it is HARD to get the pressure plate to dissengage. About the clutch kit, I don't know. It was $120 at Napa.

i did a clutch job on my 69 impala with a tko 5 spd, and it wasd super hard to push in the pedal. the clutch disk wouldnt slide properly on the tranny shaft so we had to drop the tranny back down and file down the teeth 1 by one on the clutch disk til it slid freely. i dont know if this will help

are you sure the one you got from Napa wasn't a racing clutch? racing clutches tend to come with hard pressure plates. takes getting used to. not so bad if you have hydro tranny, but with cable tranny it's a pain.

Make sure you dont have any tight bends in your clutch cable

I asked Napa and they said they "remanufacture" pressure plates. Not sure how they do it. All i know is I got the clutch from napa for like $100-150 about two years ago. I have put MANY miles on it and it works great.
