setp 1. find some jdm corners,
step 2. get a cold air intake
step 3. paint that bitch red, nothing fancy, oem color.
step 4. drop that bitch 2.5, use good shocks
step 5. get some nice black rims. maybe some nice 15 rota slips, nippons or sometihng with a nice polished lip.
step 6. get a decent system, nothing out rageous

enjoy your 3g for a long time. dont waste you time trying to do crazy mods or build a race car

just trying to drop some knowledge

my first 3g was an 88 dx hatch, spent over 4grand in just body work doing a custom conversion. then i started working on engine stuff, never got finished, wasted alot of time and money

earlier this year i got a really clean lxi coupe, decided to do a turbo project on it and i am really deep into it. this one is gonig to get finished. its just that when you think you can get things dont simple and fast it usually dosent work out that eassly. my coupe has been down for about 4 months now

thing is, i dont really care much about like turboing it or anything like that, just a simple like intake and sportier exhaust will do for me, hell i dont even have a license yet so i got time a plenty eh. thanks for the knowledge tho, no joke

id prob even skip over the exahust unless you gonnd drop some cash and get a real exhaust, not no ebay noise maker.

personally, on an unmodded car, id keep the stock exhaust and get the intake. vif you wanted to do a minor mod id get the excel coil and some plugs and wires

only reason im replacing the exhaust is because the muffler is cracked and the piping is rotted so i figure id go pacesetter with a different, smaller muffler tip

It has potential. And i like that color. The first thing I would do is fix that cornerlight. Preferably JDM corners.

BTW, you must have a fingerprint or something on your camera lens because that is why the picture look fuzzy on the right bottom corner

Accord coupes aren't rare, but red ones with the black interior are extremely rare... the black interior only came with that car which is why everyone's drooling over it lol.

how much, and where would i get jdm corners?

either from someone here or on ebay.. they usually start at $60 shipped for the pair. you can get stock ones pretty cheap though.. probably under $25 shipped.

sumonesean
07-22-2006, 03:48 PM
whats the dif between stock and jdm? and differences in wiring?

frantik
07-22-2006, 03:50 PM
no wiring difference.. it's incredibly easy to swap them.. each one is held on by two screws by the headlight

The yellow reflector is replaced with bit the sticks out and is colored orange. They're not to DOT code though because they're not relective so you could get in trouble for them, though i dont think anyone ever has. they're very discrete since they're a stock part

Here's what it looks like:

dont get the clear corners. your 100 time more likely to get in trouble for clear corners than jdm corners. youd have to get the jdm corners off ebat, expect to pat around $65 with shipping, good investment

I agree. Plus, I dont think the red would go well with the clear corners. Truth be told, I think the clears only look good with white, grey, or tan cars. I believe the jdms would look better with the red.

Welcome to the board and congrats on the Nice Coupe!

How many miles does it have on it?

I personally think the JDM Corners would look WAY better than the clear on your car.

Take some more interior pictures!

what do i need to do to mount one of those up to the bumper? drill new holes or are there clips?

mkymonkey
07-22-2006, 07:43 PM
thanks buddy! :D

drill new holes, get ten 1" bolts, ten lock nuts, twenty washers, and ten 1/4" or 1/2 inch nylon spacers. all of this can be found at any hardware store. this is easier done with the bumper off. so with it off, drill the holes through the bumper AND the lip. drill one hole at a time, so put the bolt, washer, spacer, washer, and lock nut. like i said do it one at a time and space them evenly. easy!

there is a thread somewhere with pictures and shit. lol

if you cant find a stock 3g wind, back in the day a old post-whore by the name of croncho (something like that) used a 93 teg wing, it dident look bad at all, actually looked kinda stock

yeah i have a buddy that has a teg wing on his se-i accord, looks reall good on it, i would say i have a wing but its about an inch to long to mount on my trunk, and i think the 4 doors had the same size trunk lid as the 2 doors, so dont try to put a wing from a lude on there lol or else you will be stuck with a wing like me

SQ is the SQUAD
07-22-2006, 08:40 PM
yeah you pretty much gotta mock it up and drill/screw it your self. if you going to get the car painted, have the body shop do it and paint everything at once.

however doing paint the bumper lip red, leave it black

a little beat up, but very rare car.
That is what I was thinking, I just do not see many of those in my area either.
As for the exhaust, these cars eat up standard mufflers in my neck of the woods. The humidity I suppose, water stays in there (under normal driving anyway) That goes for about any 80's early 90's Asian car with muff in rear.
