View Full Version : Should I get GSR seats?

My seats are getting old and are starting to wear. I want to get them reupholstered or get new seats. I keep seeing Integra GSR seats on Craigslist, but I'm not sure if black seats will look good or not. I'd like to go to leather seats, because that would step the interior up a notch. Either that or I'd like to go with the original upholstery. What do you guys think? My possiblities are:

1. GSR Front seats and have the rears reupholstered to match.

2. Have all the original seats reupholstered in black leather.

3. Just have all the seats reupholstered with the original blue look.

What do you guys think? Will black be too odd looking in this car? Here are pics of my interior right now.

Lude seats eh? Yeah I'd love to see what they look like. Please do post pics! :)

:banghead: And yes I do need new carpet. I'm really tempted to go a darker color on it though, because that blue color is the OPPOSITE color of dirt. If you so much as look at that carpet the wrong way, it gets dirty. I shampoo the damn thing once every 2 months, pullilng the seats and everything. It looks really good when its clean, but like a day later its dirty again!

i dont like lude seats....one reason is because of the piece under the headrest. it looks weird. and imo all of those seats would need to be reapolstered because the cloth is crappy

I do like how they're a bit sportier. They've got the side supports to hold you in the seat better while cornering. Thats kinda what I'm looking for. Anybody got any other ideas while we're at it?

88-91 Civic Si or CRX si seats would look really good IMO. and are nice and supportive. However i think you'd definately want to get them reupholstered to match.

Look like this... i've never seen any with the stitching though myself.

well i found out that they WILL NOT bolt in...i think the 86-87 and the 88-89 have diferent brakets. i just got some 3rd gen lude seats since the guy i got them from was not using them. they are like 95% close...i had to cut some of the backet off and hit it with a hammer to put it in. and they lean on the backside. i wont get my car until like 2 weeks so i cant take pics to show you guys...but yeah plan on a 2-3 hour install with the right tools...i cleaned the carpet and everthing...found like 3 bucks of coins. but im happy with them...they are sportier with a OEM look

see now these are way better. though i do agree they would have to be reapholstered to match the interior.

Probably be best to stick with the original look I'd have thought - to keep it looking right. Reupholstery would be the best move but you'd probably have to get all the seats & door trims done cos of the fading that will have occured over the years. My 2 later 2gees have the identical interior to yours & I'm using parts off one to bring the other up to scratch. IIRC the seats in the old one are pretty good (& still blue!) but I'd need to check to be sure. There might be a small burn in the drivers seat though (bearing in mind that my cars are RHD!). But it may be a long time off before it gets parted out before it goes off to the breakers.

Yeah those look pretty good in there. I bet I could find some blue ones that match the interior of my car. Even that color would match fairly well..

Thanks for the Happy b-day... It was pretty fun :)

Def. go with the 3G lude seats, they are very nice factory seats, made by Recaro too.

Get some out of a 2.0SI or SI because the drivers seat in those cars has adjustable lumbar and side support, very cool.

If you get them out of a light blue interior lude they should match your interior pretty good. (There was also a dark blue interior offered.)
