is there a difference in the power steering pump between the dx and the lxi? I found a good pump on an lxi today but nappa shows two different pumps. also on my pump the fluid supply line from the resovoir is part of the pump housing itself,on the lxi pump the supply line in is a bolt on fitting like the pressure side of the pump. I know it will fit, same block, same rack etc. whats the difference if there is one? was the pump improved at some point?

Hmmm. my DX and SE-i pumps were the same.could your pump have been replaced before at some point? according to nappa the only way to tell the difference in their catalog is one pump has two keyways and the other pump has one keyway. the main difference is that one costs a hundred bucks more then the other. on my dx pump the fluid supply line is pressed into the pump housing,on this lxi pump it has a pressure fitting just like the pump output. in other words a bolt on fitting on both sides of the pump.
