Hello again guys, it is your old friend Reppy. My boss just got a new 2002 Accord SE 4 cylinder with VTech and he is trying to figure out when he needs to change the timing belt in his car.

Is it between 60,000 and 100,000 like he was told? It has 70,000 on the odometer and he could really use a fast response.

We have looked and cannot find the answer to his question easily online so I figured we could come here. Please help us out as fast as you can.

I wouldn't change it til 100,000 miles. I have a 2001 Accord that has nearly 100,000 on it.

My manual says at 105k on the van and it has the same engine. I'm sure it will last much longer then that, but i'd start thinking about changing it around 90k.

60k is what a shop recomends since they make alot of money but our cars are like 90k...mine had 70k and i changed it along with all the drive belts, water pump and adj cam gear. and oh yeah :welcome: back to 3geez

about 100k is right.

Inspect the belt though if looks kinda try and craked looking I say replace it. Plus I think they use two timing belts too right?

I know my 4th gen has two cause I replaced them at about 140k and yes they were the original ones.

The recommended interval is 105K under normal driving conditions. And it only has one timing belt. The second toothed belt is a balancer shaft belt.
