Hi.

Ive been lurking a while, never posted though. Mostly registerd so I could search. This place is priceless for information.

Ive tried searching this but (for the first time) came up with nothing.

We run an 87 Accord on a 1/4 mile asphalt. Recently we installed transmission out of an 86 Prelude, due to the lower gear ratio. My question is which short throw shifter do I need? The one for the Prelude or for the Accord.
The Nopi part number is diffrent by the last number. Theres no console or anything, just a hole in the floorboard with a nomex boot around it.

Any help would be appricated.
Thanks

:welcome: I would say go with the 3g short shifter. If that dosent work you could always exchange it. What are you running in the 1/4 right now?

About 21 seconds. Cant drive into the cornors to deep. Still trying to get the handling tweeked. And coming out it feels like Im pulling another car behind me.
A lighter flywheel is going to cure alot of that. Its aginst the rules, going to use it anyway. Its hard to run with DOHC Civics and Integras with a car that has 110 horsepower.

yeah, there's a short shifter for our car by pacesetter (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=PSM%2D01%2D0210&N=700+4294907813+4294907606+4294924930+400091+115&autoview=sku). or you can do it the ghetto way and cut & weld your shift lever.

but cutting and welding it back together makes it a short shifter but not a short throw shifter. ive driven gio's car with the shifter and it feels a whole lot different with that on than just cutting the shifter up and welding it back together. plus ive also driven cars with stock short throws with a long as shifter and it feels completly different. plus if all the short shifter did was make it shorter....it would be a waste of money in my opinion. i mean the height is fine now lol.

You are still using all the Accord linkage correct? Use the one made for the Accord.
