lol yeah same here....i think its the fuel pump since fuel injected has like 30PSI....on my other accord it does not do that since its carbed....and its hard to take off the cap on the Lx-i....well i think its normal

Haha, it's normal. It's done that on every honda I have owned. The system is sealed so it doesn't vent gas AFAIK. I believe if it stops doing that you have somthing to worry about.

well the best thing to do might be to rebuild the motor, put on a cold air intake, 2.25 exaust, and anything but that stupid nod chip they sell on ebay

To make it run better? Change the oil n filter, new air filter, spak plugs, spark plug wires, cheak your cap and rotor to see if it needs a replacement. Maybe change the coolant if it hasnt been done in the last two years or if your running just water. And if you dont know the history of the car check your timing belt to make sure its not too lose. These engines are interferance so your looking at most of your valves getting bent and fucked up if your timing belt breaks.

Sorry to double post but i forgot to say change your pvc valve since its like a few bucks and check your fuel filter as well.

bolt a big JDM lawn chair to the back,some 22s,a fart can,and lots and lots of stickers, whoops my bad i thought you said run ricier(LOL JK) do what was already posted on this thread,just basic maintinence will help a lot,I highly reccomend rebuilding the suspension it's so much more fun when you can fly around corners. overhauling that will make a world of difference in the driveabilty. these cars handle really good with a fresh suspension underneath. it may feel alright but that's because you've gotten used to the way it is now, it's a real eye opener with it redone. also if you don't already have one,get the factory rear sway bar from a junkyard somewhere. all the pieces to rebuild it are available from majestic honda. you have to look under 89 lxi,it won't show them available for anything else.

headers are roughtly 200+. what else do you want to do to it? you say youve changed most of the stuff others have mentioned but the t belt. so run some seafoam and maybe it will get a lot cleaner. lol. and yeah did you get just a stock replacement or high flow cat?

i think its just like a bottle of sprite, you move it about etc... and then pressure builds up and when you open it it fizzes... just my theory...

mine always does it, but i dont think it should anymore since i got a vent on it :)

it is normal. our fuel tanks are pressurized. newer hondas have vented systems.
without pressure in the fuel tank, your car can run like crap and gas mileage goes to hell.
If you don't hear that sound when you open your gas tank, you should fix it.

i have the same problem. i don't hear that sound after i rebuild my fuel tank but then i noticed one little pipe isn't connected to anythere. did i rebuild my fuel tank wrong? and my gas millage goes to hell :(. so the sound wuusshhhhhh says that the is the pressure in the tank?? not vacum?
