yeah I don't know. hope this is in the right forum.

I bought a filter from partsamerica.com, I can take pics if anyone wants. I gave it to my friend to install (i'm pretty mechanically inept, lol) and he said it was too big. I've been all over and i've searched all over this forum and can't find out any information. if anyone can provide a part number or link or picture or any kind of info it would be greatly appreciated.

the car is an 89 lx, carbed of course.

Purolator Fuel Filter - F23162
Fram Fuel Filter - G6436
Beck/Arnley Fuel Filter - 0430894
Wix Fuel Filter - 33479

Those all should fit your car.

There is a 3/8" end and a 1/4" end. so the fuel line sizes are different.

there is also a secondary filter which used both 3/8" fitting on it and is much larger.

The secondary filter is more important because it tends to get clogged first.

I replaced the secondary filter, but due to the primary not being right or whatever it hasnt been replaced yet. hopefully soon :)

what the hail. F23162 is the fuel filter I have. :o

he said it was too big and wouldn't fit in the bracket or something. anyone know what would cause him to think that?

i tried looking myself but couldn't even find the thing, lol. it doesn't help that i don't have jackstands or ramps. :o

I had a clear fram filter ment for domestic carbs as my primary. It was nice except that it used both 3/8" lines... so you have to get some brass adapters. Worked nicely though.
