I dont know if anybody else has seen this site http://www.quartersportsdrag.com/H2B.html but they make adapter plates and flywheel spacers to fit b series trannies into any H and F series engines...I was hoping someone could contact them to see if they can make those for our cars with A series engines...

It would be interesting... seeing that some people around here are finding it hard to find A series transmissions.

i emailed them cuz i got bored... i'm not really sure why though because what would be the point of a b-series transmission? except maybe we could run hydraulic transmission? but what's better about hydraulic vs. cable lol.

we would still use a cable tranny, just would have more aftermarket things available such as LSDs, and custom gears.

someone else should try to email these guys... or if we could get a cad drawing at least of that adaptor the 9 second a20 guy made, actually, what he did doesn't even look that hard. how difficult would that be to make that adapter plate? Didn't he just trace the b16 tranny and then drill some holes to match what was on the a20?

pretty much ya. it has to basically bolt straight up to the A20, and the plate has to bolt up to the B16. he probably notched out a couple places on the tranny and the engine to accomidate all those bolts he had to use. just my guess though

but you gotta rember, its more then just the adapter plate. you gotta make sure the axles fit, the placement of the clutch/flywheel because now the tranny sits 3/4 of an inch out cuz of the plate

i believe he used a b series clutch/flywheel. B series trannies are stronger than A series, which really means nothing unless your going for 10s (there are people out there)

im guessing he got somebody to make custom bolts which are 3/4 of an inch longer for the flywheel bolts and used a spacer between the flywheel and the crankshaft. but still, im wondering how he made the axles work as we dont use half shafts

we dont?

we dont?

i thought by using a half shaft, it will absorb some of the torque produced and wont likely break as many axles, isnt that why the B20 used it?

a20 trannies use half shafts...

a20 trannies use half shafts...

do we? i thought it was just 1 half shaft for the passenger side and 1 long axle for the driver side. and isnt the one on the drivers side more likely to break due to its length?

i dont belive we use half shafts. yes, we you two axles and not one long drive shaft, but when we say half shaft we mean one side axle the comes apart into two parts, like the integra. those, we dont have.
