View Full Version : Small AC Problem.. need help!

well my AC works as in it gets cold....and everything.. but it only turns on when i set it to high.. i cant put it.. low or med.. or any lower setting.. Any sugestions?
Is there some relay.. or do i have to change the whole AC panel.

Since your motor is ok in the hi speed, your diode & motor are OK. Gonna guess your blower resister is bad, got an open in it. it controls the three lower speeds & is located on the blower motor.

Thanxs Steve... ill try to locate it... Inside the blower huh... i think i heard about it.. just didnt know what it does... ok.. ill try to locate it... thanxs for the help.

DJ, you'll see a 1"X 2" approx., thin black plastic rectangle, held in place by two phillips head screws. There should be a connector with four blue wires plugged into it. The resisters are on the other side, in the air stream to help cool them. That seems to be the most likely thing to be bad, hope that's it!
