so my car is ofically fucked up
i was just driving home and i got right to my apartments and pow my car locks up and it wont move, im like what the hell just happend i tryed to push it and that dident work put i did get it to go backwords into a parking stall, me thinks the tranny just went or one of the cv joints just locked up

well we just did the clutch and we had to put more oil in then and it hasent leaked any at all but when we had the tranny out it the shaft eam to spine just fine no hangups or anything is it posible that it might be the linkage or the cj jount

i would jack up the front and see if the axel moves when you try to move it...try both wheels.

Need a little more info, then "pow it locks up". Do you mean, the car won't move or start ? What does it do when you push the clutch in & try to start it?

Look underneath the car, the shift linkage might have popped out. Had something similar happen a while back. Hopefully your sycros aren't shot.

thatt sounds like what I had said about it a few weeks ago, the clutch is not adjusted therefor it is not disengaging. somebody goofed up some things when doing the clutch job, I am sorry to say that whats it heard like.

the thing is its really really hard to get the car in gear like there jamed and i cant eben tell if its going into gear right before it stop it started whining like a real high pitch

I agree with ddude2uc check the shift linkage, check that other part too that stablizes/links the trans and shifter, or is that the same part :lol: I forget how the 5 speed went together.

well i got it moved today im thinking the syncro's are bad at first id get it going then it would pop out of gear then id get going again and it would do the same so finally i said f it i held the shifter in gear and it started going but its making a load ass grindig,cliking, broken sound (lol thats the only word to discribe it brioken lol ) so im gona take adams86lxi offer for his 5speed lxi tranny and pick it up at the end of the month i will aslo need some shift linkige bushings so if anyone know's witch are the best that would be killer

As for as your statement, it does sound like your syncros aren't letting gears engage right. Replace the tranny & shift linkage bushings, should be good to go. The manual transaxle syncronizers can be replaced, but would need a little know how on it, along with some mechanical abilities.

Edit- I don't recommend any shady tree mechanic to attempt to replace sycronizers in the manual transaxle.
