this car originally had an A16A1 motor. put in this F20A,
car has custom (self) built engine mounts and custom (self) made wiring harness with F20A's PT2 ECU, the best part is how this engine loves to rev (88 mm stroke)
next plan is to hybrid this with an H22 head and P13 pistons along with P13 ECM

Very nice dude, lets get some pics of those mounts. I believe this is the first f20 I have ever seen in a 3g. What did you do for axles? shift linkage?

F20A is a JDM 4g Si engine isn't it? Does this mean other 4g engines would fit?

the mount arrangement I have made enables me to drop an H22A into it without mods Its basically the same arrangement. Ive even prewired VTEC into my wiring harness so I can just plug the ECU and connect the VTS, KS and VTPS wires.
for the shifter I used an accord shifter and custom cables and the axles are custom made from 4g and 3g parts, had to trim the front and rear crossmember as the H22 tranny is too wide and the engine is fatter due to the balancershafts. I made a custom header to make the package slimmer as you can see in the pic (under the sheild i.e.).
As no-one wants to mod 3geez here, they think of it as an oldman's car - the feeling is priceless when you beat the living daylights out of a ricer civic, corolla or integra at a stoplight.

yes it is the JDM Accord Si engine, the only 4g accord that came with LSD tranny, 4WS and full nappa interior

Very good work man, try and get some shots of the mounts. i would love to see how that thing was stuck in there. Would you be able to make more mounts? If you can or cannot either way this shit rocks.

Indeed man, this is some interesting stuff. I have a feeling at the rate your going, you'll be able to take more than ricer civics, corollas and integras.

wow that is cool yes you need to post some more pics...thoes mounts are worth thier weight in gold. i only know of 2 3geez with H22...do you have a shop or did you do all this stuff in your garage and lots of free time?

nah for me it has nothing to do with hitting... but rather the ease of maintaining the engine and it's parts is half the joy of owning a simple old school car.

an intake manifold so close to the firewall may be harder to remove.

I perfer to keep things simple...

and carbureted

I'm turned off to some new cars just because of the way they try to cram everything in a small space making it harder to work on.

lol wonder why every one want to go fuel injection...cuz no one knows how to work on carbs no more like the old days when all they had was carbs.

very very very very very nice work you done there  when i saw the thread i thought of another dreamer or something, but you made it happen, good stuff :) is that the stock radiator though??

yes the A/C is operational

is the ac still hooked up and working too

Damn that things is right up against the firewall.

I flipped the TPS sensor so it does not touch the firewall - and the engine doesnt move much (as in at all) because Ive also utilised the great trademark dogbone torque rod of the 3gee inserted with a solid rubber.

the manifold is also easy to remove because its in two pieces.

and ill ask again just coz i wanna know lol. what kinda radiator is that? ive never seen one in both 4geez and 3geez were the cap is all the way to the side instead of in the middle

Thanks

the radiator is from a JDM 1996 toyota corolla 2.0 turbodiesel. aluminum core with plastic tanks. had to make miniature top mounts for it to fit.

so them radiators are a near perfect fit? can you get pics of the mounts? sounds like a interesting swap :) sounds like it beats these plastic honda radiators that get cracked :-/

not if you get a Koyo....still keeps the car cold even with the fans no working....lol but yeah tell your friend to give you back your cable so you can upload some pics.

I'll upload pics as soon as I get my USB cable back and I wash the engine, its damn filthy as you can see.

the radiator lines up perfectly but you dont have a thermosensor in the bottom tank, just screw it in somewhere after your thermostat. The mini mounts are easy to make just roll some nice MS sheet that would sit on the radiator tank receptacles toyota use then weld a short tube to adapt it into the accord upper frame round mounts,

You might be thinking of the F20B? It's a vtec only SOHC or DOHC engine.

I've never seen a vtec 4th gen. All the vtec 5th gen have always been a 2.2, whether it's SOHC or DOHC. All NZ models were single cam :( If it weren't for the jap imports, all our 4/5/6/7 gen 4 cylinder cars would be rubbish.
