my car idles very high when I start it up does this until warm then after i hit the gass it goes to normal :wtf: I have 1989 honda accord lx please help if I dont press the gass to the floor when i start it up it just shots off sometimes it diesels when i shut it off

That is the cold start fast idle

it is supposed to raise the RPM to about 3,000 or so RPM then as the car warms up it will begin to lower.

What RPM is the car at when it is in fast idle?

what is the RPM at after your car warms up?

Also to make sure you keep the system working good, check the radiator fluid level.

when the car is in high idle it is between 3-4ooo rpms
