Steering wheel adjustments

I bought my accord about a year and a half ago and a little while after that started playing with the steering wheel adjustment and the damn thing won't work....I can pull the handle out but it won't push down at all and the steering wheel won't move up or down....is there some way to fix this or is this just some cruel joke?

in hopes of finding the answer for you, i will revive this post, and possible give an answer... the locking lever sit's on a sorta complex part under there... you should crawl under your dash and find out what it is... if i'm not mistaken, it'a all welded together, but the part that clamps down to lock may have borken... you never know until you look
