View Full Version : Front Bumpers, any MILD ones?

Is there any factory looking bumpers for our 3Geez that is clean, looks factory, but just a tad more agressive than the stock one? I dont want any big gaping holes, no big air dams, no funky looking intakes, just a smooth clean bumper cover that my stock signal lights will fit in, that bolts up with stock hardware (if possible but not required) and does not have any "ricer look" to it.

Any suggestions? More or less I'd like a bumper without that black bump strip around it but otherwise stock, maybe a different air intake in the bottom would be ok.

Hmm, mild, but still too much for my taste. Looks OK on his car, but I wouldnt want it on mine let's just say that.

And I could paint the strip, but then it would look just like that, a cheapo painted over bumper. I'd rather have one that didnt have that strip at all, just a smoothie bumper of some sort, if that even exists....

I'm of the school of "less is more" if that helps any.... :)

Yeah thats the Xenon body kit that is the closest you will get to what you are looking for.

hmm im sure i could perhaps peal that black plastic strip off??

orrr u can get hmm i saw one that had a little plastic strip i think it was off a coupe though and the bumper was painted to match the car

That plastic strip is really just a molded in part of the whole bumper, its kind of a rough surface "bump strip" meant for women who run into things in the garage I guess, so it will get rubbed before it gets to the paint LOL.

So, no peeling it off unfortunately.

burn it off :P or just take a rear bumper and put it on the front

I just noticed BITESIZE's front bumper, clean, no trim strip around it, looks like it's fully paintable, and will accept my original lights I think.

Will this style fit my 89 Sedan?

get some plastic filler or fiber glass and smooth it off then paint it all one color and get a lip... paint it all the same and it would look nice. but i like the black strip cus it looks more old school.

Naw no Teg lip, hell I already have an Integra GS-R LOL. Dont need to make my lil hooptie look like my teg.

No black bumper either, I want the monochrome body color look.

I really like the bumper style on BITESIZE's car, Im gonna check out his stats on his car and find out if that's a stock bumper. If so I wonder if it would bolt onto my car??

crazybird, yours isn't painted.

ram,
The 86-87 bumper is on that hatchback you posted. if you want that front end you need 86-87 signal lights

You had the extra door trim? those things are pop rivited if I remember... only my DX had them... I tore them off and found holes in my door. :(

yes it will bolt to your car.

But the 88-89 lights are different dimensions then the 86-87 ones.

That's just an 86-87 bumper... bone stock.

I don't have that bumper anymore, I upgraded to the 89 bumper. Looks alot better. And that bumper in the picture is an 86 87 style bumper. It will fit all models and years, you just need the brackets.

Funny thing is, I kinda liked it too, not really the gap, just the dropped down center that gives it more style than a smooth plain stock bumper is.

I'll look to see where I can find a bumper cover and some lights, I might switch over while I'm doing the engine work...

Still got your old one? If so is it in good condition? (paintable with no wrinkles or tears or impacts on it anywhere?)

Bitesize, I like the look of this car... looks kinda mean. Looks like you cut the "grille" parts out of the lower intake hole and left the fog light hole covers off (mine was missing those covers already lol.

I was going to get fog lights for the empty holes, but wrecked the car and am repairing that. I did cut the crap out of the inside with a dremel. It was easy. BTW, this time around I'm primering the car black.

Hell maybe I'll just leave well enough alone an throw on a new bumper and paint it up nice and new looking when I replace the back bumper.

Gotta go get some Chroma-Base mixed up to match the rest of the car..... :werd:
