Ok, I did the typical vacuum mod and took out all that emissions junk, half of which I suspect wasn't working right anyway. Now umm...problem with this is, I'm in New York :-P...but it was all I could do to get it working right. There was just way too much junk that could have been causing it to run crappy. So I took out the entire black box, as well as the emissions valves/solenoids and such...except I left the cruise control in...since I wanted to keep that. It runs fine now, but I'm worried about if it will pass emissions when it next needs an inspection.

What I'm wondering is what I can do to help it out, if I need to. So far, I was thinking of the hotter thermostat (and perhaps a slightly thicker oil to compensate the engine) to burn up more of the hydrocarbons...maybe in an extreme case, get a universal catalytic converter with an air pipe, and hook an electric air pump up to it... Any other suggestions would be welcome.
