JDM B20a Found(Maybe), But Worth It?

I was looking for a JDM B20a and came across www.usedjapanengines.com
I looked through 88-91 Preludes and sure enough there it is. But it has a Gold Top. Isn't it suppose to have a Black Top? The guy got back to me told me it is $980 shipped and a 5 speed tranny is $450 if I buy both...my question to you guys is, isn't it suppose to be a black top, and would it be a good investment for a swap? If I do buy it, it'll be at the beginning of next month (if I don't go to jail, long story). Need INFO, thanks!

that is the wrong engine...you need the 84-87 lude JDM b20

Is it's a B20A and has a gold top, then it's a JDM B20A for an Accord/Prelude 2nd gen.

"should" be the right engine. Just ask him the serial number Just the 3 first digits will do if he is reluctant to give the full number. If it begins with a 1, it's the right engine.

that is the pic that they have. but it says 88-91 lude carb to Fuel injected. it does look right since that thing is not tilted back like the 88-91 lude

if you have really good eyes, you can see that the serial number starts 155,xxx. if that's the case, then yes, it's the right b20a. good find, this is the first gen. there were gold top b20's that bolt into our car.

yeah....he was like il get to to tomorrow. i told him to take a pic and he said that was the pic of the engine and i asked him if it was still in the car he said no...but he insisted that it was for a 88-91 lude.

didnt you read.......that pic is from a member here....that is in new zeland....he just stole the pic. plus the guy said that that was a 88-91 lude engine like the website says. i called him...and he picked up...plus we are not sure if it comes with a tranny or anything.

i just got off the phone with him again...he said that that engine is in a warehouse in california.....i told him that he stole steves pics and he said that on his website it said that not all the pics are the same of what you get....yeah we had a big discussion.....it does not come with a trany or anything its just a bare engine. he wants 850 for it.
