ok, so i've had the car about 4 1/2 years now. in like '97 or so the roof was bent in and the front passenger window broken out. the window was fixed but the dented roof has stayed. now i'm taking body shop classes so i have the chance to fix my car. it was pretty dented, and if you cant tell in the pix its looking pretty good for just what i've done so far. i took the headliner off, got a piece of 2x4 wood scrap and a hammer. then i hammered on the support braces or whatever that are attached to the roof panel. this method worked pretty good and got most of the dent out.

i see some lude seats.....i like my seats also...but that red is rice....good job....most of my dents were from Big suvs or mini van that try to park in the compact area and have to hit your car so the ppl can get out. i liked my auto body class it was fun...plus i got to work on my car.

damn thats annoying isnt it, my dads old car had this really huge dent in the door thanks 2 some dicks who looked like they tried their hardest to put a dent there :@ our old van was cool though, someone done that and hit the bull bars and left a nice dent in his door :D

it was a bunch of reasons really why i did the red and black interior. 1st, those are my favorite colors together, a lot of italian cars i've been in had this two tone black and red interior that highly influenced it, and yeah reppin at least one color. lol .

crazybird, that would be a pretty cool combo, would look icey (without a "R") someone should do a chop of it like that. or you could just paint it black which looks cool aswell without being accused of it being rice

depends what material your headliner is, if its the fury cloth kind i doubt it, if its the plastic kind u can, but take it out first. i just used a cheap $2 can of paint for mine, its still all good too, no flaking or anything. i also sprayed it with that tyre shining stuff for the nice shine and sprayed it with some of perfume i found so it wouldnt stink so much lol. i ended up taking the dash out cause it didnt look right in a maroon interior

I would lke to see it with black post trim, the red it periphrially annoying. on somebody elses car or my car... I like the idea of changing up with some diff two tones, the factory does it two tone, so I may do mine a little diff colors but not no krylon crayola , more like look at some of acuras shades for interior..., choclate, candy typecolors , not skittles but ,..you know like maybe mocha mint, or caramel nugget three muskteers..laughing but kinda serious. LBKS
or whatdacallit fried bolongy sandwich red with black with silver telflon...not knocking the work,Iknow tha was a lotof workl....oh and not on the roof job, that is a disaster, I would cut the skin and possibley went to JY and got a sunroof top with cordless sawsall. Tryin to streighten that out with those crimped up areas close to seams is tough,you will be chasing a warp constantly. Or maybe not, the panel has to be unsprung, It can be done that way though,gonna cost some mud, time, and lotsa dust. Also dealing with headliner my way, you can get by without headliner work trying to strieghten it, maybe.....

lbks = ?

i dont think ya need any special paint for paint interior, when i was painting mine it had some mysterious white ppatches, i just wiped them off with a cloth and all done :D as for your headliner, it should be all good, good luck on removing it though. just dont paint it while its in there

ha, i'll let you get ahold of the jetta if ya want. needs an engine swap and a set of springs and shocks. then i'll be an auto cross machine. when i fixed the roof i also used a hydraulic dent remover like in the pic below. made easy work of pushing the bent in support brace out along with working the metal back out by hand. only thing is you have to watch what your doing so not to create a high spot.

yeah, i'm actually really turned off by vw's at this moment. kinda cuz my friend drives one and is a real arse! seems like everyone thinks vw drivers are too cocky, no? as for my 3gee's roof, i'm very happy with the results so far. i will later paint it but for now its great.
