bad deal....my friend got a used set up for 350....came with pioneer deck, 2 12 inch kicker comp subs and a 800 watt amp...it hooked it up and it sounds good.

well you might want to try and get a 2ch mono blocks are fun to hook up to 2 subs u really have to get into the numbers of things here look at this how to and tell me u what u think

with the first one u should be able to bridge at the amp but that will gice u a 2ohm load
if the amp is 2 ohm stable then u got your self a deal id like to see more specs if posible

i agree with geddy, do not get a fosgate amp, theyre power ratings are false, and geddy: i had the same exact mono amp u do, doesnt that thing make power or what? and never gets hot, well, never got hot for me anyway...and i made up a system for my friend it came out to less than 500$ US and did't include interior speakers, just a sub, box, amp, wires, and deck...

kicker, you always want a little more power in ur amp than in ur sub...so if ur sub is 600rms than u want something like 650-700 so the kicker fills that...

no offence but there garbage ive had a few of them in my begenner days its not really about the tuning on the deck u dont normaly tune there u tune on the amps and crossovers there for there usless to me ive owned i panasonic and it was the best sounding deck ive ever owend and personaly i dont use the alpine decks there a little to complicated to use but im say for sound quality they tend to be better due to the pre amp output volts witch are 5.0 normally

i havent really looked at the kenwoods in a while i used to use an old tape deck buy them and i have yet to be able to match the sound quailty of it but if u can get an excilion (sp) there not a bad deck at all i know a few people that live by them

look at the serial number 750.1 its a 750 rms watt amp, and yeah .1 mean mono, sonys that claim to be 1200 have serial numbers like 400.1 400.2 etc. they only have 1/3 of the power always! and a sony deck?! eww why would you buy a sony deck? or sony anything? they aren't good at all in the car audio department...jvc is straight...but im tellin u, pioneer will be way better...

so if the sub is duel voice coil and can handle the 2ohm load u will get 750 but if it isent duel voice coil then ur only gona get 350 at 4ohm witch is plenty power for a L5

you won't be dissappointed on the jvc deck... i have mine that's half of that price only like a 150 dollar model and it's great. been happy with it for 2+ years. only thing i would say is that pioneer is WAAAAYYYY better. my friend had one of the top models in his truck and holy hell it was nice. definitely noticed a difference.

i go to wamart and get the amp kit they have its like 26 bucks and its 4/5 gauge power wire and everthing u need to hook up 2 amps, i do of course get better rca's but i wont spend more then maybe 30 on them

sorry to hyjack the thread....but geddy...i just came from dublin...MY FRIEND GOT SO FUCKING LUCKY....he got 2 10 inch Type R subs(300rms) with box, an 1000 watt earthquake amp(2ch) and a cap all for 210. he gave me the box since he already has a custom box and a Jl-w10 for free...im happy. just need to find a deck for the LX-i(may get something from best buy since my boy works there)YA DA DA MEAN?
